About the Author

Tomas Estes had a true love of Tequila that shone through all that he did, leaving an indelible mark on the world of spirits.

Tomas grew up on the east side of Los Angeles, where he was immersed in its vibrant Mexican culture. His passion for Tequila and Mexican heritage was ignited during frequent trips to Tijuana in his youth.

In Amsterdam in 1976, Tomas launched Café Pacifico, the first Mexican restaurant and bar in Europe. He went on to open eighteen more restaurants and bars in six cities, including London, Paris, Amsterdam, Cologne, Milan, and Sydney, each renowned for their Tequila and Tequila-based cocktails.

In 2008, Tomas founded Tequila Ocho, the world's first single-field Tequila, exploring the idea of terroir in agave growing. Tequila Ocho has since won numerous awards and is now sold in more than twenty-five countries.

In 2012 Tomas published The Tequila Ambassador, a seminal work on the subject of Tequila. This completely reimagined and expanded edition is now known as The Tequila Ambassador V.O.--this Version Originale or director's cut, as envisioned by Tomas himself, is poised to carry his legacy forward.
